A week on the scene WAI going MIA Where the Action Is will says "adios" at their farewell show Saturday, January 29 at Tacoland, 103 W. Grayson. The Swindles open, and then will be joined by WAI. The following evening, El Dorado and the Ruckus, who opened for KISS and Aerosmith last summer under the moniker Porch Ghouls, perform at the club, with Los Mescaleros and power pop outfit the Dirty Hearts. You've heard the songs, now see the man He's known better as a songwriter than a performer: Singer/guitarist Jim Lauderdale has a deep catalog of songs that made other people famous, including Kelly Willis, David Ball, Shelby Lynne, John Mayall, and yes, even the Dixie Chicks. (We won't hold that against him.) He also received a Grammy in 2003 for his collaboration with bluegrass great Ralph Stanley on Lost in the Lonesome Pines. Coolio moves to March Originally scheduled for Friday, January 28, the Coolio show at Jack's Patio has been rescheduled for a to-be-determined March date. Coolio reportedly has an acting gig that conflicted with this week's show. Open mics and salsa nights The Cove, 606 W. Cypress, is holding an open mic night Tuesdays from 8-11 p.m. If singing isn't your thing, but dancing is, Luna will launch a weekly salsa night beginning Thursday, February 10, complete with a new dance floor.
