Box office Death Star, J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens, has destroyed James Cameron's Avatar as the highest grossing domestic film of all time.
Within its first 20 days of release, Star Wars: The Force Awakens surpassed Avatar's $760.5 million lifetime gross - including a hefty $800 million internationally. Even though Avatar is still king of the world box office with $2.8 billion, at this rate, Star Wars: The Force Awakens will no longer be the apprentice, but the master.
