Deadpool guitar shredder Carlos Lopez recently inked an endorsement deal with Halo Guitars (they even made him a built-to-order six-string Octavia guitar with the band’s “dp” logo inlayed on the fretboard). One of the perks for Deadpool is the opportunity to headline a Slave to the Metal Tour show, hosted by Fuse TV’s heavy-metal dominatrix, Mistress Juliya, who has been known to do some modeling for Halo, when she’s not posing for Maxim.

The downside to all this excitement is that Lopez and his bandmates were given only two weeks to pull together a San Antonio show that would be worthy of Miss Juliya’s luminosity. “It was tough, because I couldn’t find a venue that was free, but I got lucky,” he says. Lopez’s luck turned when he approached Bond’s 007 Rock Bar (450 Soledad St.), which will be the setting for the wall-rattling throwdown Friday, December 19. Deadpool’s San Antonio compatriots Perish the Land will open, followed by a couple of bands to be named later, a Halo guitar giveaway, and a climactic Deadpool set. Showtime is 8 p.m., and the cover is $10.
