Third Root's new single: "Three Shots"

Third Root, the collaboration between Easy Lee (Mojoe) and Marco Cervantes (Mexican Stepgrandfather) has released "Three Shots," the new single off their upcoming full-length album. The song, produced by DJ Ninja, features Cooley High on keyboards and Apaso and R.E.L. (Chisme).

"With 'Three Shots' we collaborated with Apaso and R.E.L., who represent a larger body of Chicano hip hop artists down with the Third Root movement," said Cervantes. "Hip hop has become a big component of Chicano culture and identity, and we try to capture that history in this track." You can hear the song here.

The previously announced CD release party in July at Jump-Start has been canceled and the band is trying to secure some new dates and venues, but the album's digital release is still scheduled for June 19. On May 14, the band launched a Kickstarter album pre-order campaign.

Here's the video for "Pinot Noir," the previous single.
