Lillix |
Headlining the tour is Lillix, a young Canadian punk-pop quartet with a penchant for '80s covers and TV show themes. After earning modest attention for updating the Romantics' "What I Like About You" (for a WB series of the same name), the group agreed to take on the Go-Go's' "This Town," for the MTV show, Rich Girls. Clearly eying mainstream acceptance, this group employed such fingers-on-the-pulse hitmakers as the Matrix and Linda Perry for its Maverick Records debut album, Falling Uphill.

The Girlz Garage Tour is neither the most cutting-edge nor commercially potent assemblage of women who rock that could ever be devised, but it should provide an intriguing combination of women on the verge of some kind of breakthrough. •
