Unlike certain awards ceremonies, you don’t need to be invited to the Tejano Music Awards — you can buy a ticket. Hosted by comedian Paul Rodriguez, the evening’s festivities include tributes to La Mafia, the Latin Breed, the Quintanilla Family, and Laura Canales, live performances by Pee Wee, Texas Tornados, Arthur Hanlon, A.J. Castillo, David Lee Garza, and more than a dozen others. Highlights to look forward to: appearances by director Robert Rodriguez and actor Danny Trejo, and a couple of wildcard performances, like American Idol’s David Archuleta (who’ll cover Selena’s “Como La Flor”) and Girl in a Coma (whose Tejano album hasn’t been sent our way yet). $15-$60, 7pm, the Municipal Auditorium, 100 Auditorium Circle, (210) 207-8500, tejanomusicawards.com, ticketmaster.com
