San Antonio police arrested Wolff at a Whataburger on San Pedro near North Star Mall just after 3 a.m. Sunday. According to the SAPD, a witness reported Wolff's vehicle after he rear ended two other vehicles in the drive-thru. Police caught up with Wolff after spotting front-end damage on his vehicle. Wolff failed a field sobriety test and police took him to jail, where he refused a Breathalyzer test, according to police.
Wolff, who spoke to reporters Sunday morning, said police never asked him to take a Breathalyzer, adding that he was on his blood pressure medicine, the San Antonio Express-News reports. As for whether he had anything to drink, "Oh yeah, sure," Wolff said, according to the newspaper.
Wolff is the only Republican on Bexar County Commissioners Court. He represented City Council District 9 from 2005 to 2008. In 2009, he was elected to Commissioners Court. Democrat Brandon J. Johnson is challenging Wolff for his seat in the November election.
