"I'll limit the intrusion of government in our daily lives," said Campbell at the end of the 30-second ad.
Sure, when it comes to guns and God, Campbell will do what it takes to get government out of the picture, but when it comes to your uterus, she might as well have planted a giant 'Welcome' sign.
Author of one of the most restrictive pieces of reproductive legislation in the country, Campbell championed a new Texas law that bans abortion after 20-weeks of pregnancy, forces abortion clinics to undergo costly upgrades to comply with the same requirements as ambulatory surgical centers (which she has continually provided no evidence to back up), requires abortion doctors secure admitting privileges to nearby hospitals and limits the way women can take abortion drugs.
The law is seen as a, "legislative intrusion into the patient-physician relationship," and the overall practice of medicine by major, non-partisan medical organizations like the Texas Medical Association. It's also being challenged in court by a dozen health care leaders who consider the law harmful to their patients, an unnecessary medical interference by government and flat-out unconstitutional.
