Sometimes, people are the worst.

Animal Care Services rescued a five-year-old dog from a dumpster on the West Side this morning, according to a news release.

The dog, named "Millie" by ACS staff, was found near the bottom of the dumpster, "underneath bags of trash as well as old pizza boxes, empty soda cans and other debris." The dog, which was not microchipped. was also apparently suffering from heat stroke.

ACS Cruelty Investigations is looking into the incident. If you have any information about the dog or who might have dumped it, call 311 to report it.
