The Temple Police Department faced a rather unusual challenge last Friday when they had to chase down a large cow on the loose.

Officer Gabriel Estrella told KCEN-TV that he received a call about the cow and spotted it roaming around through neighborhoods. As seen in the dashcam footage uploaded to TPD's Facebook page, Temple officers chased the cow across a field before trying to capture it by closing it inside of a gated playground. The cow, however, was not having it.

"I saw that another fence was open so that's why you see me inside the fence because I was going to run across and close the other side," Estrella told KCEN-TV. "But I heard something and saw a cow coming at me so I had to move out of the way."

The tables quickly turned right after Estrella closed the doors to the gate and the cow began charging toward him, making its way past the police car and eventually outside of Temple city limits, reports News4SA.

The police department is still pursuing the cow.
