Mystery Woman in Old Photos Quickly Identified Through Power of Social Media

In just under a week, with the help of social media, local producer Luis Muñoz was able to identify "Rose" in one of the old 35 mm photos he bought from the Alamo Antique Mall.

Coincidentally, the woman in the photo who piqued his curiosity — and who he dubbed "Rose" — is actually named Rosemary Olivarri.

"Just spoke to her and her daughter Kathy! Such a magical moment. This page hasn't even been up a week and the mystery is solved. Thank you all so much for your clues, tips, and research," Muñoz, executive producer at Bauhaus Media Group, Inc. said in a Facebook post.

He told us that he got to speak with her. She is living in Orange, Texas now.

"They had lost the photos decades ago, looked for them, and gave up," he says. "The pictures were in a [sic] an old storage unit that got sold with their possessions."

Muñoz says he will be visiting them soon to return their photos.

His work, however, isn't over. There are more photos that he bought that are still being posted to the Facebook page Finding Rose in hopes that people will be able to identify some of the other folks in the photos.
