A fire from a natural gas pipeline explosion burns near Cuero.

A natural gas pipeline near Lindenau, a tiny community in DeWitt County 85 miles southeast of San Antonio, ruptured yesterday, causing an enormous fire but no injuries.

The explosion shook nearby houses. Although residents near the pipeline evacuated, the fire did not cause any deaths or injuries. Lindenau sits on the eastern edge of the Eagle Ford Shale, a massive oil and gas field in South Texas.

Energy Transfer Partners owns the pipeline. The company diverted gas from the pipeline, though the residual gas burnt for several hours, according to the Victoria Advocate.
