Radio Station Offers Donald Sterling $10,000 To Stop Being Racist

Radio personality Billy Madison is offering Donald Sterling, basketball team owner/known racist, $10,000 to apologize to African-Americans for his racist racism.

According to a press release, Sterling will only earn his $10,000 if he meets Madison’s elaborate list of demands. Sterling must come to Madison’s San Antonio studio. While being videotaped, Sterling must apologize for being a racist and submit to a spanking by an African-American man. Then, and only then, will Madison hand him a check for $10,000.

Poor, poor, racist Sterling. Discrimination against racists is at an all-time high.

He’s been banned from NBA games and fined $2.5 million dollars by the NBA. The Los Angeles Clippers also barred him from attending any games, practices, the entire Clippers facility, and engaging in business or team operations. Now, radio personalities dangle $10,000 in front of his face to entice him to authentically apologize.

I, for one, welcome this wager. Sterling may need options for realizing that his racist remarks and behavior hurt other people. Therapy, private soul searching, and even finding authentic community with people of color could help change his racist attitudes. But, it's doubtful that someone with Sterling's net-worth would do that for 10 grand. @marshnaylor
