San Antonio is one of twelve cities being visited by Red Bull Thre3style, a DJ contest that allows mixmasters to prove their prowess in a 15-minute set that must contain at least three musical genres. Local DJs Jiggy, Tone, Sonora, DJM, Vegas Banger, Q Base, Tony Phoenix, and B. Radical will be judged by a panel of “professional party-starting DJs” on their technical skills, track selection, creativity, and “ability to bring the house down.” The battle for the title of “Best Party Rocker in the 210” is hosted by Xavier Da Freakin’ Rican and includes a performance by Kenny Dope, who dance music fans of a certain age will know as Little Louie Vega’s partner in the production team Masters at Work. $5 (text “3style” to 72855 for a chance to win tickets), doors at 8pm, Sunset Station, 1174 E Commerce, (210) 222-9481, redbullusa.com/thre3style.
