Remembering Olvidate del Alamo

Here is video footage from the 4th annual Olvidate del Alamo closing reception held March 6, 2007, at Bihl Haus Arts in the Deco District. The event capped off an exhibition commemorating the 13-day siege of the Alamo, and featured poetry readings as well as artwork. Seen here is a short clip of poet Jesse Cardona, reading from his poem "Olividate del Alamo," and an interview with exhibition curator Ramon Vasquez y Sanchez. The goal of the annual event, says Vasquez y Sanchez, is to reexamine the myths and alleged facts, and explore stories not often covered in mainstream history, literature, and art.
