SAMA Riverwalk Extension Celebration

Release Date: 2009-05-27

In celebration of the River Walk extension, SAMA hosts an all-day party with children’s art activities, a scavenger hunt through the galleries, and music and food available throughout the day. For the adults, from 1-3 p.m. in the SAMA auditorium, there will be a panel with eight public artists discussing their contributions to the Museum Reach expansion, including Stuart Allen, Donald Lipski (those are his monster sunfish lanterns above), Rolando Briseño, and others. With the downtown River Walk pretty much lost to tourists and out-of-town corporations, the River Walk extension looks to be something locals can actually call their own. Peruse Elaine Wolff and Sarah Fisch’s guide, page 24. Free, 11am-5pm, San Antonio Museum of Art, 200 W. Jones Ave., (210) 978-8100, samuseum.org.
