Ted Cruz sure has been busy on the campaign trail.

In the wake of a horrible terrorist attack in Brussels that has killed at least 31 and seriously injured dozens more, presidential candidate Ted Cruz is stoking fear and further revealing his totalitarian streak.

Here's part of his response this morning after news of the tragedy:

Our European allies are now seeing what comes of a toxic mix of migrants who have been infiltrated by terrorists and isolated, radical Muslim neighborhoods.

We will do what we can to help them fight this scourge, and redouble our efforts to make sure it does not happen here.

We need to immediately halt the flow of refugees from countries with a significant al Qaida or ISIS presence.

We need to empower law enforcement to patrol and secure Muslim neighborhoods before they become radicalized.

We need to secure the southern border to prevent terrorist infiltration.
Cruz says the West has tried to deny the existence of terrorism out of a combination of political correctness and fear, which can no longer be afforded.

Perhaps he has not been paying attention to the decade-long, partially clandestine, war the United States and its coalition partners have been fighting in all corners of the world. The entire world is enflamed in conflict, from Syria, to Yemen, to Somalia, to Afghanistan, to Pakistan, and on and on. These real conflicts hardly suggest the world — and the U.S. — is ignoring terrorism.

Cruz also wants to go to war, if elected. So voters, just reflect on the past 15 years of war this country has already gone through.

And we need to execute a coherent campaign to utterly destroy ISIS.

The days of the United States voluntarily surrendering to the enemy to show how progressive and enlightened we can be are at an end. Our country is at stake.
Perhaps rather than rushing toward war mongering and stoking fear, which will inevitably trickle down to America's Muslim population in schools and in public, the conservative Christian should say a prayer for Belgium and the victims rather than advocate for war, suggest a permanent police state for this country's Muslims and perpetuate the evidence-less claim that terrorists are infiltrating the southern border.
