Of all the buildings in the Lone Star state, the Alamodome is the ugliest — at least, that’s what readers told Business Insider, which surveyed the ugliest building in every state based on reader responses.

One reader quoted in the article describes the Alamodome as “inscrutably ugly, with four gigantic pillars hoisting up the domed roof and making the thing look like a dead armadillo.” (Now that we think about it, it does kind of look like a belly-up ‘dillo.)

Though it may not be the most pleasing-to-the-eye building in all of the land, is the Alamodome really the ugliest building in the entire state? Over time, some San Antonians have taken to Twitter to agree: Tweets referring to the Alamodome as “ugly,” and even “hideous” can be traced back to at least 2011.

Occasionally, people have chimed in to defend the former home of the Spurs.

Keep in mind, Business Insider once published a story claiming In-N-Out, not Whataburger, was the most popular fast food joint in Texas. So, maybe the jury's still out on whether or not the Alamodome is truly the ugliest building in the state.
