An Austin man is currently in jail for punching a cop during a traffic stop on Friday, Nov. 24.

The Associated Press reports that a 23-year-old man has been jailed and charged with attempted assault of a peace officer. According to arrest records, Southern Longoria punched the police officer on the side of the highway. Police pulled over when they saw Longoria trying to move his vehicle.

The records also show that Longoria shouted an obscenity at the officer when he asked him to move the vehicle. He then flailed his arms at the officer while charging at him and landed a punch on the officer's chest. The officer and his partner apprehended Longoria, who was taken to to Travis County jail. The state felony he's charged with is punishable for up to two years in jail.

And no, the officer wasn't hurt by the single punch.
