A former ironwoker, Texas-born Tracy Lawrence hit the big time with his 1991 debut album Sticks and Stones. The album’s title track snagged the number-one position on the Billboard country charts. Since then, he’s recorded eight studio albums (including a Christian release), received numerous awards (Top New Male Vocalist by Billboard and the Academy of Country Music), married a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader, started his own record label, and (sadly) cut off his strawberry-blond mullet. $10-$20, doors at 7pm, Cowboys Dancehall, 3030 NE Loop 410, (210) 646-9378, cowboysdancehall.com
