Danielle Shields, the wife of Sutherland Springs shooter Devin Patrick Kelley, taught toddlers at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs where the shooting occurred, according to her resume on Indeed.com.

Shields described her responsibilities at First Baptist, where she worked from June 2009 to March 2013, saying she would “Teach the children about GOD, help them with their life stones that are needed, be a positive influence in their life.”

According to her resume, Shields also volunteered in Floresville, Texas from August 2011 to 2013, where she would “visit with the elderly, sing old hymns, write down their life story, help the elderly with life stones needed, make them feel loved."

Texas DPS Regional Director Freeman Martin told reporters during a press conference on Monday morning that Shields’ mother attended First Baptist, and that Kelley had previously sent his mother-in-law threatening texts. Martin referred to the shooting as a "domestic situation,” saying it was not racially motivated or about religious beliefs.

Kelley and Shields were married in April 2014, and have two children together.

Kelley was previously married once before he married Shields. He was stationed at the Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico in 2012 when he was court-martialed and ultimately sentenced to one year in prison for assaulting his wife and young child. He was discharged for "bad conduct" and divorced his first wife in 2012, records show.

Correction, 2:54 p.m.:
An earlier version of this article quoting from Shields' Indeed resume stated that Shields worked for the Special Olympics in LaVernia, Texas. A spokeswoman for Special Olympics Texas issued this statement to the Current: "News organizations have quoted a purported resume belonging to Danielle Shields stating that she worked for Special Olympics in LaVernia, Texas. A thorough examination of Special Olympics Texas files did not reveal anyone by either the name Danielle Shields or Danielle Kelley as one of our volunteers." We regret the error.
