There are hundreds of things we love about spring — the weather is finally perfect, the sun is shining most of the day, wildflowers are in bloom — but there's one thing we can definitely do without: rattlesnakes.
Now that we've had warm weather for a while now, Texans should be on the lookout for the slithery creatures within and outside of city limits. Fortunately for Janie Moy's
family, who lives on 25 acres in Falls City just an hour outside of San Antonio, the South Texas woman was somewhat prepared during an encounter with a rattler last weekend.
As
MySA reports, Moy noticed something slithering onto her driveway last Saturday, which ended up being a four-foot rattle snake. After moving her children to the garage, Moy grabbed a 410 shotgun and killed the reptile, shooting it three times.
Moy says she's "paranoid" to let her kids out in the yard after the incident, though it's the first snake she's seen on the family's property. Regardless, it's a good reminder for San Antonians to be on the lookout for unwanted critters.
