Mexico’s Latin Grammy-nominated Zoé will be opening for fellow countrymen (and nominees themselves) Motel, and it won’t get much better than that. Zoé is a brainy but vibrant feast on alternative/psychedelia executed with conviction by a Spanish-language band that’s equal parts Radiohead and Soda Stereo. Phil Vinall (Elastica, Placebo, Pulp) produced the just-released Reptilectric, their second superb album in a row, and they’re on fire. Motel? Good fun, power ballads and solid rockers. If you are into or curious about above-average roc en español bands, I recommend you hurry and get a couple of free tickets.
