Rush coming to SA, Nov. 30 at AT&T Center

Before you dismiss Rush as one of many jurassic bands trying to make a buck in these harsh times, remember a few things: Neil Peart is one of the greatest drummers ever and the band is the third rock band in history with more consecutive gold/platinum albums (only the Beatles and the Rolling Stones have more). They're now coming to San Antonio on November 30 at AT&T Center, and tickets go on sale May 5 (livenation.com). The 33-city tour begins September 7 in Manchester, New Hampshire, and ends December 2 in Houston.

The band's 20th studio album, Clockwork Angels (their first collection of original material in five years), comes out June 12 and it will be their first with Anthem/Roadrunner Records.

"'Headlong Flight’ was one of those songs that was a joy to write and record from beginning to end," said singer/bassist Geddy Lee in a press statement. "[Guitarist] Alex [Lifeson] and I had a blast jamming in my home studio one day before the second leg of the Time Machine Tour and I did not revisit that jam until a year later. Alex and I assembled the song to be an instrumental and its original title was 'Take that lampshade off yo head!' But once we saw the lyrics Neil had written for ‘Headlong Flight,’ I knew that the spirit of the lyrics matched the instrumental perfectly and it was just a matter of making them fit and writing the melodies.”
