Last Tardeada at Saluté: a big "thanks" to Azeneth

Posted By on Tue, Jul 17, 2012 at 4:53 PM

Langton Drive (performing at Saluté for the first and last time), Chisme, Apaso, Mexican Stepgrandfather, Pop Pistol, and Sugar Skull (formerly Vincent Vega) played at the last Saluté Tardeada on Sunday, July 8. It was a cozy, emotional farewell to the place that not only nurtured conjunto bands, but rockeros as well.

"This is the place that really helped me start spreading the word," said Marco Cervantes (Mexican Stepgrandfather), originally from Houston. One by one, the bands thanked Azeneth Domínguez, who will leave the local music temple after 25 years (the new owner has different plans for the place).

Here's a quick recap of that last Tardeada.
