Pretty sure this won't be included in the new business' signage

The moment some have been dreading for months has finally come. Like storied venues before it (CBGB, Emo's, etc.), Taco Land has now been thoroughly gentrified, as evidenced by tomorrow's soft opening of a new outdoor bar at the same location, with the same name (now it's "Tacoland"), but with a far more stylish business plan.

Everything changes, that's true. But the stories, music, rifts and love affairs Taco Land sparked were legendary, and legends never die. For one last "old time's sake," share your memories, photos, concert flyers y mas about the house that Ram built. Send all the goodies to tacolandlove (at) gmail. com and we'll compile an ongoing digital archive.

If you need inspiration, check out Erik Sanden (Buttercup, Demitasse) and Ryan Parker's lovely (and brutally honest) illustrated tribute they recently shared at a Pecha Kucha San Antonio event last fall. It's got loving, fighting, baby kissing and most of all, music.
