The King of Tex Mex rock, Joe Carrasco

The king of Tex-Mex rock 'n' roll, Joe Carrasco began his career with his El Molino band, featuring future members of the Texas Tornados. By '81, Carrasco had formed the Crowns, releasing their '82 debut Synapse Gap, featuring harmony parts from Michael Jackson. With features in Rolling Stone, SNL and a place in the Austin Music Hall of Fame, Carrasco's Tejano rock is a seminal addition to Texas music. $14-$50, 9pm, Sam's Burger Joint, 330 E Grayson, (210) 223-2830.

Silent Land Time Machine via Weird Magic

Native to SA but active in Austin, Silent Land Time Machine creates dark, textural odes on the 2012 EP I Am No Longer Alone with Myself. Courtesy of Austin's excellent Holodeck label, Silent Land Time Machine will perform with Troller (ATX), Symbol (ATX) and Reversus (NYC). $5, 6pm-11pm, The Mattress Factory 1903 S St. Mary's.

Self-described 3rd Coast Beach Partiers The Bolos

Though they don't have any recorded work to date, the self-described "3rdCoastBeachParty" of The Bolos is not to be missed. Parker Millsap (Sunday, June 29)

Okie Parker Millsap

At Sam's Burger Joint, Oklahoma's Parker Millsap will introduce new music from his self-titled album on Okrahoma Records/Thirty Tigers. With the tight, plucking twang of his guitar and a voice that's scratchy on the low end and resonant on the high notes, Praker Millsap earned a nominaion for Emerging Act of the Year in the 2014 Americana Honors and Awards. $10, 8pm, Sam's Burger Joint, 330 E Grayson, (210) 223-2830.
