Stargayzer Festival, occuring September 12-14

The inaugural Stargayzer Festival, taking place September 12-14 in Austin, announced its daily headliners today. With Trust on Friday, Big Freedia, Cakes Da Killa and SSION on Saturday and Austra and Xiu Xiu on Sunday, Stargayzer is an exciting celebration of contemporary queer music. To represent SA at the festival, Saakred, Pink Leche and Fea will perform.

Originally scheduled to be housed at Carson Creek Ranch (the home of Psych Fest), Stargayzer announced that it will move the bash to downtown Austin. The festival will now occur at Pine Street Station on East 5th and Waller, with a satellite stage at The North Door, adjacent to Pine Street. If you're familiar with the area during SXSW, that site is the annual home of the Fader Fort.

With aGLIFF (Austin Gay and Lesbian Film Festival) occurring September 10-14 in downtown Austin, the second weekend in September looks to be a great time for LGBT art in South Texas. "I think it's perfect," producer Nick Hornsby told the Austin Chronicle. "People can treat the whole thing as one big queer opportunity.”

For our Pride issue in early June, we profiled Stargayzer and Nick Hornsby. You can read the interview here.
