Like a cross between a dusty vinyl frozen in time with a fresh, up-and-coming group going places, SA’s the Rich Hands are a revival of all things rock ‘n’ roll. With the Ramones-esque bubblegum punk “Teenagers” from Out of My Head, the Rich Hands take us back to a simpler time when adolescent romance reigned supreme.

The B-side is a fairly straight forward cover of the Rolling Stones’ late ‘60s hit “Jumpin’ Jack Flash.” Even though the Rich Hands stay true to the original’s bluesy flavor instead of pulling a Devo (who covered a twisted rendition of "Satisfaction"), they add their a surf-inspired spin to make it all their own.

"Take Me Away," a non-album single, keeps the tradition of pure guitar-driven rock alive. With lyrics like "Why don't you get on outta my head and come on into my bed" and infectious singalong choruses, the Rich Hands prove that music can be fun, but still have substance.

The Rich Hands tour will make a hometown stop October 3 at the Korova with rock veterans Paul Collins Beat. With the Bolos and Dark Planes $6-$8, 8 pm, the Korova, 107 E Martin, (210) 226-5070
