To complement their April psych offerings, K23 Gallery announced a gig with Chilean quartet Föllakzoid on May 7. Up from Santiago on a summer (or winter) tour, the band combines flailing psych guitars with the strict rhythm section of krautrock. Where the German bands used the backbeat-loving Motorik rhythm to maintain a clear head, Föllakzoid repurposes it as a V-2 rocket engine into what they call "Cosmic Music."

Their new single, "Electric," is a beautiful work of longform psych, serving as the opener of their impending release III. To record it, Föllakzoid went straight to the rhythmic source, working with German electronic composer Uwe Schmidt, who you can credit for all the gnarly atonal spots on the tune. III debuts March 31 on the marvelous Sacred Bones label.
