Opera Piccola to Mashup Star Trek and Mozart to Celebrate the Show's 50th

Opera and motherfucking Star Trek, amiright? Opera Piccola of San Antonio will be performing Mozart's classic our-girlfriends-got-captured-by-a-harem-let's-go-save-'em composition Abduction from the Seraglio ... as an episode of Star Trek! In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the iconic program, you'll be whisked away on a spaceship of song into another universe of Klingons, space women, alien lizards, chicken monsters, girlfriends, a harem, ghost pirates, and the whole Enterprise gang.

 Josh Shaw translated the libretto and directed the performers along with the Pacific Opera Project. Kristin Roach leads the full human orchestra and chorus of Klingons. The performances will take place Saturday, February 6 at 8pm, with a matinee performance on Sunday, February 7 at 2:30pm at the Charline McCombs Empire Theatre. Opening night will feature a Star Trek costume contest with a cash prize of $250.00 to the winner. Hot dog!
