That Time Selena Visited the San Antonio Zoo

Posted By on Wed, Aug 17, 2016 at 6:30 AM

On Facebook this week, the San Antonio Zoo chose to pay homage to Selena Quintanilla by posting a photo of her and some family when they visited the zoo exactly 23 years ago.

The photo shows Selena alongside husband, Chris, and two children (presumably their niece and nephew) at the lion statue inside the zoo. With Selena decked out in a baggy T shirt and large sunglasses, it's probably one of the more nondescript photos of the tejano queen and crossover icon, who would have been 22 at the time the image.

San Antonians used the post to share their memories of La Reina in San Antonio, where she frequently visited before her tragic death.
