(Two) Goo Goo Dolls
You'll get a chance to hear melodramatic masterpiece "Iris" sung by the Goo Goo Dolls — not a wedding band — when they hit the Aztec Theatre Tuesday, December 6.
The Goo Goo Dolls, formed in '85 by the only two standing members. Singer John Rzeznik and bassist Robby Takac are best known for a string of chart topping hits a decade later. While their most notable songs, "Slide" and "Iris" can be heard making the rounds on Doctor's office radios, the Dolls have been extensively touring and releasing new material, including 2016's Boxes.
Despite their reputation as soft rockers with alternative tendencies, their crowing jewel, "Iris" - originally written for the Nicolas Cage vehicle City of Angels - still packs not a punch but a slap.
The Dolls will be joined with opening act, SafetySuit.
