Paper Tiger just released the lineup for the 2016 edition of Night of the Creeps, a Halloween festival that began last year. The event tasks local acts to cover bands from the past. It's half tribute show, half costume party, as the bands encouraged to dress up and recreate the original band’s aesthetic.

And the sometimes unusual pairings make for an interesting night. For instance, it’s hard to imagine the Bolos channeling their keyboard-less style of rock and roll into the synthpop of Devo. The Grasshopper Lies Heavy also face the curious mission of morphing their massive walls of sound to incorporate the style of two-piece grunge rock of Local H. It's all part of what makes Night of the Creeps such a cool show for both the audience and musicians who perform.

This year’s roster is as follows:

Sailor Poon as THE CRAMPS

The Bolos as DEVO

Fleming Bros+Branca as AGENT ORANGE

Yoshimoto as BLONDE REDHEAD

Cannibal Bitch as BUTTHOLE SURFERS

The Grasshopper Lies Heavy as LOCAL H

Filthy as SCREAMERS

Whatever? as TSOL

Buho as THE CURE

Flower Jesus Quintet as VELVET UNDERGROUND

Harvey McLaughlin & The Bottomfeeders as ROCKET FROM THE CRYPT
