Have you ever gone through your phone and thought, Holy shit, I forgot I even took this photo?

Well, that’s sort of what happened to SA native Norman Avila recently, only it wasn’t some hip photo of his morning latte he'd forgotten about, but rather he stumbled upon a roll of film documenting The Rolling Stones’ HemisFair Arena show Avila attended in San Antonio on June 4, 1975.

This Sunday, those photos of Mick Jagger and crew tearing up Alamo City in the 70s will be on display at the South Texas Popular Culture Center. That's mostly thanks to TexPop curator Michael Ann Coker, who reached out to Avila after she saw him post a few photos of the show on his Facebook page.

"The trick back then was to not use a flash, 'cause if [security] saw it, they would come and take your film," says Avila, who also photographed numerous bands like Lou Reed, Elvis Costello and The Sex Pistols, to name a few.

On top of photographing rock and roll legends, Avila is a painter and musician whose garage rock band Los #2 Dinners played the very first South By Southwest music festival back in 1987.

So if you’re a fan of of The Stones or just curious about peeking into SA's rock 'n roll history, be sure to swing by TexPop on Sunday for an event that’s sure to bring on some heavy waves of nostalgia.
