Indie Rockers St. Dukes to Release Debut EP

Without implying that it’s wholly derivative at all (because it’s not), young, talented, and local indie rock outfit St. Dukes reminds me a bit of Sunset Rubdown, the delirious and excellent side-project of Wolf Parade frontman Spencer Krug.

There’s a delicate thread of chaos running through Inez Escobar Jr’s enchanting vocals. Meanwhile, the group’s overall sound veers toward the more energetic and jangly side of intricate indie-pop, swelling with youthful rhythms of celebration.
