With Trump in the White House, many of us are tempted to punch a wall on a daily basis. Safer but just as cathartic might be watching these two storied purveyors of ‘80s hardcore punk vent their bile onstage.

Headliners Millions of Dead Cops (formed in Texas as the Stains before relocating to San Fran) cranked out some of the era’s most scathing critiques of social ills, from police brutality to the fast-food industry. Their anthems “Violent Rednecks,” “John Wayne Was a Nazi” and “Born to Die” embody the anti-authoritarian rage that defines the best punk of that (or any) era. For its part, D.O.A. put Canadian hardcore on the map with a distinctive blend of humor, radical politics and tough-as-nails riffing. Outspoken Dead Kennedys frontman Jello Biafra even collaborated with the band in 1990 to create the nihilistic masterpiece Last Scream of the Missing Neighbors. Yeah, Trump will still be president after the show lets out, but just like in the ‘80s, there will be something reaffirming about knowing a whole hall full of people in your town also hate his fucking guts.
