Here’s the thing: when La Botanica throws a free Pride Night bash, you go to it – simple as that. The bar/vegan eatery has worked hard to hone its reputation as a place of fierce inclusivity, a business with a true social consciousness, and a welcoming meeting place for revolutionaries, the marginalized and LGBTQIA+ citizens.

For its Pride Night this year, brought to you by Alamo Area Resource Center (San Antonio’s first nonprofit LGBTQ clinic) and hosted by local indie pop icon Wayne E. Holtz, the venue will present several rad (and representative) musical acts. Aside from a performance from Holtz, the show will feature the queer-bass/electro-pop stylings of Pink Leche, the forward-thinking and highly artistic R&B of AMEA, and the alt-rap onslaught of Chris Conde (full disclosure: Conde writes about music for the Current). The special evening will also feature prize giveaways, non-musical performances and drink specials.

Free, Thu Jun 28, 7pm, La Botanica, 2911 N. St. Mary’s St., (210) 716-0702, vivalabotanica.com.
