Look, we know this is a few months away, but San Antonio's a metal town... and this is kind of a big deal.

New Orleans black metal legends Goatwhore headline the 8th Metal Alliance Tour — and it's heading our way Saturday, Nov. 3. The bill also includes the Casualties, Black Tusk, Great American Ghost and Morthereon.

While Metal Alliance has always specialized in the extreme end of the metal spectrum, this year the organizers also seem keen on diversity. In addition to Goatwhore's Southern take on extreme metal, the package ranges from the Casualties' early '80s-style street punk and Black Tusk's murky sludge to Great American Ghost's bruising hardcore and Morthereon's melodic death metal.

If you're gonna sign up for an aural beatdown, you might as well slugged from as many different angles as possible, right?

Tickets go on sale Friday, Aug. 17.

$20-25, Sat Nov 3, 6pm, Alamo City Music Hall, 1305 E Houston St., alamocitymusichall.com.
