Punctuated by three-part vocal harmonies and banjo riffs that could hold their own next to the most technical of thrash-metal guitar riffs, Austin’s Wood & Wire are arguably one of our region’s best bluegrass acts today. Formed in 2011, the four-piece is known for getting audiences riled up with songs that often turn into full-on jams that can last upwards of nine minutes. If you like banjos, mandolins and the upright bass, this show’s for you.

$10-$45, Fri Aug 24, 8pm, Sam’s Burger Joint, 330 E. Grayson St., samsburgerjoint.com.
