Noodleboy, a name given as a term of endearment, is a homegrown songwriting project centered on the domestic — Jeremy Purser’s sparely arranged songs cover subject matter drawn from personal experiences, cats and plants, and feature sounds from his daily life, like a voicemail from his mother. Purser eschews high production values, instead opting for lo-fi indie guitar backed by kitschy drum kits.

Joining Noodleboy on the bill is Andrew Weathers, an improviser and composer who recently relocated from California to Littlefield, Texas. Weathers’ most recent release, Build A Mountain Where Our Bodies Fall, is effervescent and somewhat ethereal, but its cosmic soundscapes are grounded by melodies that evoke grassroots American anthems. Attendees are asked to provide a small donation for the touring bands.

Pay what you can, Sun Aug 26, 8pm, Presa House Gallery, 725 S. Presa St., (210) 913-5842, presahouse.com.
