At almost 14 years, Russian Circles has continued to be one of the leaders in the post-rock, alternative-metal, post-metal (or instru-metal if you’re a nerd like me) communities.

Punctuated by their sometimes-terrifying crescendos, the three-piece create a magical dark metal that feels like a swirling mist that might surround a witch as she’s preparing to destroy some Eastern European town that’s scorned her. It’s altogether beautiful and spooky, and we’re more than stoked to announce that they’re headed back to San Antonio with Austin’s own Dallas Acid at Paper Tiger this Saturday.

$18, Sat Oct. 13, 8pm, Paper Tiger, 2410 N. St. Mary’s St., papertigersatx.com.
