What more can be said about Vince Staples that we don’t already know? The Compton-born rapper has been making waves since appearing on different Odd Future members’ projects since the 2010s and collaborating with some of the best in the weirdo hip-hop world like the late Mac Miller.

Back in 2014, Current contributor James Courtney called the rapper’s track “Screen Door” “the most enjoyable and grating track” on the Hell Can Wait EP, citing themes in the song like the cycle of addiction and the economy surrounding it.”

As the Lil’s and Yungs continue to pop out of the Soundcloud rap sky, rappers like Vince Staples continue to push hip-hop forward, sharing the experience and strength of the young black man in America.

Catch the artist in San Antonio for a show at the Aztec Theatre on Saturday, February 9.

Presale tickets start Thursday, December 13 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased at theaztectheatre.com.
