Fiesta Jazz Concert
For its 53rd annual Fiesta concert, St. Mary’s University hosts San Antonio trumpeter Adrian Ruiz from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. At 7 p.m., the St. Mary’s jazz faculty will join drummer Will Kennedy, percussion expert for LA jazz fusion outfit The Yellowjackets. At 8:30 p.m., Hannibal Lokumbe will perform with the Music Liberation Orchestra. Trained at the University of North Texas, Lokumbe made his name in New York performing with Gil Evans, Richard Davis and Pharoah Sanders.
