Ahh, the holiday season. It's all fun and games until you realize you're stuck with the kids all day. While you love them to pieces, they're no fun when they're being stir-crazy. These spots are guaranteed to provide some fun for them and you! Whether it's acting like a kid yourself or drinking away (responsibly, of course), here's how to keep the entire family entertained for the next few weeks.

Wimberley Zipline Adventures

If your kiddos are a little older, give them an experience they’ll remember for the rest of their life. Adventurous families must make it a point to head up to Wimberley to zipline over canyons and creeks during a two-hour journey. The kids will have a hell of a story to tell when their teacher asks what they did over break.

Tower of the Americas

Make the kids appreciate the beauty of San Antonio and take them to enjoy one of the best views in the city. They’re more likely to get a kick out of how high it is and be all giggles about it. If you truly want to treat them, take them to the Charter House for dessert while you and your significant other sip on a glass of wine or a cocktail perhaps.

Incredible Pizza

Mr. Gatti’s may be a fond memory now, but Incredible Pizza is basically the next best thing. Load up on pizza, pasta, hot dogs and more, then make your way to the game room. The kids will have hours of fun with interactive rides, bumper cars, and go-carts, while you can kick it in one of the many theme rooms while watching a movie or a sports game. Just remember to check on the kids every so often.

The Pearl

Though you could hit up this swanky bowling alley with the kids, go earlier in the day for a more relaxed environment. You’ll skip the usual bowling alley/feet smell at this spot, and be able to sip on crafty cocktails while the kids knock some pins over. Sounds like a win-win to us.

Brackenridge Park

Bundle up (or dress down – we never know with San Antonio weather) and enjoy a day at the park. At Brackenridge, there’s plenty to do – from the Botanical Garden and Sunken Garden Theater to the Witte Museum and Japanese Tea Gardens. Plus, the park grounds and baseball fields give space to relax, stay active or do whatever you choose. Plan your day accordingly for a fun-filled day in the outdoors.

This spot is one of the best places to go if you want a lit family outing. Make it a parents versus kids game and see who comes out victorious. Y’all will have plenty of fun climbing up the castles in this maze and declaring war against each other. Games last about 20 minutes and are $8 a person.

Peter Piper Pizza

Okay, so Peter Piper usually sounds like a nightmare with a bunch of screaming kids, but think of it this way… they serve pitchers of beer and have plenty of fun games for kids of all ages. Plus, if you visit the South Side location there’s that mini roller coaster that literally defies gravity. That sounds like fun to us.

Escape the Room San Antonio
