Take selfies in front of all the Spurs murals around town
Multiple locations, here’s a map! nba.com
We’re not really sure that this is a terribly romantic date idea, but the fun part about taking selfies in front of the Spurs murals is that you can share in the joy of loving the Spurs with your one-and-only. Plus, these selfies are like almost as good as taking a selfie with a live Spur, and just as iconic.

Pack a picnic at the San Antonio Botanical Garden
555 Funston Pl, (210) 536-1400, sabot.org
You can impress your date with your ability to cook or with your ability to pack sandwiches if you take them to the Botanical Garden for a picnic. Let’s face it – the food probably won’t be the best part of the date anyway. The best part will be observing the spring blooms and enjoying the lack of mosquitos as you stroll together through the paths.

Sip on bubble tea and play games at Brew’s Lee Tea Station
4009 Broadway St, (210) 598-0068, brewsleetea.com
Just FYI, Brew’s Lee has awesome split cup technology that can give you the opportunity to split a drink with your romantic interest, which gives you two the perfect excuse to be head-to-head. Think of the Lady and the Tramp spaghetti scene, except you’re just sharing a bubble tea, not sucking on the same noodle. One perk of doing it this way is that neither of you have spaghetti breath.

Visit all of SA’s small-town neighbors
New Braunfels, Boerne, Comfort, Fredericksburg, etc.
What’s cuter than the German charm of New Braunfels, or more exciting and beautiful than the Comal River located there? Or more interesting than the main drag in Boerne, where you can find treasures in the antique shops? The bottom line is that small towns are objectively romantic, and no one can disagree with you.

Grab some blankets and set up at a free Slab Cinema screening
slabcinema.com
Get cozy under the stars to watch a free movie put on by Slab Cinema in various locations around San Antonio. Be sure to check their schedule for what movie is showing and where it will be. It’s cool because if your date doesn’t like the movie, no one gets blamed for not picking a good one.

Explore all the food trucks at The Block
14530 Roadrunner Way, (210) 690-3333, theblocksa.com
New and located near UTSA, The Block is home to both a bar and different food trucks with a rotating schedule. This week, they’re featuring Curb, Bullgogiboys, Mr Fish, Go Vegan, Golden Street Tacos, and Homies Kitchen. The best part is that when you ask your lovely what they’d like to eat, you don’t have to agree on a place. Win win!

Be kids at heart at Slackers
Multiple locations, slackersbars.com
With three locations in San Antonio, with the old favorite near North Star Mall and the other near Nacogdoches, and a new location open near St. Mary’s, let your inner kid out. Sure, that might not sound romantic, but you know what does? Playing your old arcade favorites and showing your crush how much time you spent playing video games as a youngster. Wait – that doesn’t sound that romantic either.

Support your local teams – from the Spurs and Rampage to the new Commanders
We’ve all heard of the Spurs, even if you’re not a sports fan. Most of us have heard of Rampage, which is the town’s hockey team. But who’s heard of the Commanders, the city’s brand new football team? If you and your boo are sports fans, be sure to hit up a game soon.

Treat yourself to a staycation at Hotel Emma
136 E Grayson St, (210) 448-8300, thehotelemma.com

Nurse a beer at The Friendly Spot
943 S Alamo St, (210) 224-2337, thefriendlyspot.com
The Friendly Spot was voted one of the best places to get a drink, and we concur. With 300 beers available in either cans or bottles and 76 kept on tap, there’s not only something for everyone to try, but there’s something for everyone to like.
