27th Annual Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza National Group Competition

Mariachi groups gather from across the nation to compete for the world-renowned Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán.
The Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza National Group Competition hosts the largest and longest-running mariachi group competitions in the world. Widely considered as the toughest national mariachi competition, they are often referred to as the Super Bowl of Mariachi Music where groups compete for a chance to open for the world-renowned Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán in concert. Wristbands are required to attend this unique cultural event and are available online until November 27th or at the door the day of competition and include entrance into the National Group Competition, National Vocal Competition and High School Group Finals.
