3 Ways To Celebrate Bastille Day in San Antonio

San Antonio restaurants are offering plenty of ways to bring out your French side and celebrate Bastille Day, which celebrates the Storming of the Bastille on 14 July 1789, and the Fête de la Fédération two years later, on Thursday, July 14.

La Boulangerie, a family-owned French bakery is holding a Bastille Day party in Travis Park from 11a.m. to 2p.m. The event will feature different kinds of authentic French food such as breads, lunches, pastries and desserts. If you're in the mood for a picnic, although the scenery may not be as mesmerizing as the Eiffel Tower, you can pre order a box lunch from the bakery for $12 by calling them at (210) 639-3165. You'll be able to enjoy your picnic while listening to French music. Franchophiles of all ages will be entertained with games and dancing.

If you're looking for a way to celebrate Bastille Day tomorrow evening check out the Chez Vatel Bistro Bastille Day party from 5 to 9p.m. Admission will cost $40 and will include two drink tickets. The bistro will be serving a variety of French wines and beers. There will be more authentic French food than your stomach can hold including crepes, beignets, Croque Monsieur and more. The bistro is also teaming up with 'Creme de la Creme' for even more delicious food and fun. This event will also include accordion music and other French activities.  If you're in the mood for something sweet, go grab a bite at any participating location of La Madeleine Country French Café and receive a free mini Liberté Tart for dessert all day Thursday.
