34th Annual Ford Holiday River Parade

The 34th annual Ford Holiday River Parade will be held the day after Thanksgiving, November 27th, on the beautiful San Antonio River Walk. Fond memories of celebrating the holidays on the River Walk served as inspiration for the 2015 theme, Holiday Memories. Tickets will be sold online beginning September 21st at Noon at Festivities will begin with the traditional lighting of the River Walk by Mayor Ivy Taylor and other dignitaries. She will flip the switch for over 80,000 sparkling lights followed immediately by 28 illuminated floats filled with pageantry, costumes, and plenty of holiday music. The first float in the parade will carry the 2015 Grand Marshal, the Honorable Julián Castro, former San Antonio Mayor and homegrown son who has gone on to serve our nation in Washington, D.C. Castro was born in San Antonio and is the identical twin brother of current United Sates Representative Joaquin Castro. His wife Erica and their two children, Carina and Cristian Julián will join Castro on the float.
