The big news finally broke today: Google Fiber is coming to the Alamo City.

This is the largest city Google Fiber has targeted, both by area and population.

The construction phase, which will take at least two years, involves installing 4,000 miles of fiber optic cable throughout San Antonio.

That seems like a staggering amount, and to help ourselves put it in perspective we found five places that are approximately 4,000 miles away from Bexar County.

  • The North Pole

The North Pole is crazy far — about 4,000 miles away from San Antonio.
